Pink Blush Maternity Giveaway

As you guys know, I have struggled with some body issues during this pregnancy.  I am happy to report, though, that I'm feeling really positive lately.  I know that I'm staying active and trying to eat healthy, and I have found some pretty cute clothes to help me dress my growing tummy.  I first heard about Pink Blush Maternity through other blogs I follow, and I was really pleased to see their selection of plus sized AND plus sized maternity clothes.  This is a market I feel is severely under-represented.  There are only a handful of stores where I've found actual plus size maternity clothes, and most of those you have to order online.

The folks over at Pink Blush Maternity were nice enough to send me this dress, and I really love it.  I wore it to the Bernice Garden Farmer's Market on Sunday, and as we were walking down the street, a little girl stopped me and said, "You're so PRETTY!"  It totally made my day!  The dress is nice and stretchy, so I'm sure it can accommodate my growing belly.  What I like about most of their clothes is that you can wear them post baby.  They have some nursing robes that I really have my eye on!

I think the best thing to do if you're struggling with your body during pregnancy is to remember that bodies come in all different sizes, and even though you may not have that perfect "bump," you are beautiful.  It's a tough job making a baby, so we need to continue to be kind to ourselves.

Speaking of being kind, I have a giveaway for you!  Pink Blush was kind enough to let me give away a $75 PinkBlush gift card to their online store!  So, leave a comment below telling me one kind thing you like to do for yourself, whether it's making time to read a nice book or telling yourself something you did well that day.  Make sure you include a way for me to email you.  I will pick the winner on Friday, May 13th.  Even if you're not pregnant, there are tons of pretty dresses and outfits for all sizes that would look great this summer.  Good luck!

Special thanks to my beautiful friend, Reva, who snapped these pictures of me.  I don't often pose for full body shots, but this was really fun, and she did a great job!

**Disclaimer: Pink Blush Maternity did not monetarily compensate me for this post.  They did generously send me a dress of my choosing.  I am happy to bring you posts from companies that I feel are doing good things for body positivity.  Please comment only once for the giveaway.  Unfortunately, any persons entering that have won a Pink Blush giveaway in the last 3 months are ineligible.

  1. Self care is SO hard and SO important! Sometimes the best thing I can do for me is to give myself 5 minutes of silence to reflect on my troubles and reframe them in a way that better suits me. It's not that I'm failing at work; I was asked to do new-to-me tasks and that uncomfortable feeling just means I'm growing as a human. And then I eat chocolate. :)

  8. I've been enjoying reading about your pregnancy! I hit 27 weeks today - and it has been getting tougher and tougher to find clothes I feel comfortable in. I try to get myself to the gym a couple times a week - even just for a walk on the treadmill allows me to have that "me" time and makes me feel like I'm doing good for my body that is creating another human!

I've been eyeing up pink blush clothes since I got pregnant - and the dress you chose is so gorgeous!

  9. I like writing out or thinking about what things i'm grateful for each day. Saying 'thank you' for what I have makes bad days a little less terrible.

  10. My kind thing is letting myself have treats even when there's negative self-talk going on inside. Just because I feel like I don't "deserve" them doesn't mean I can't enjoy some homemade cookies!

  11. I love to read. So after my son is in bed I sit on the couch with a cup of chamomile tea and read for about 30 minutes. It is so relaxing before bed!

  17. I recently entered into a grad school program, and there’s a big emphasis on self-care. What do you do to clear you mind? To take care of yourself? To get away from all the stress? It took me a long time to realize what self care is. I used to think it was having half a bottle of wine and procrastinating. I am beginning to understand that this is not the case. For me, self-care is taking my mind as far away from the ever-so-present parade of worries that we call life. So what do I do that is nice for myself? My go-to answer is that I attend Zumba classes three times a week, and I go for long walks on the other days. Moving my body and releasing my mind from the “worry train” is key. But it is not perfect. I am sure everyone can attest to falling short, and prevailing, and tweaking their methods to continue to grow. Self-betterment, and self-care is not one act – it is an everyday pursuit. Some days, my act of kindness is two cups of coffee instead of one. On others, it is spending an extra hour with my partner. Otherwise, I love to write, to read, and to connect with others. I realize that this is not one kind thing that I do for myself, but this is my buffet of self-care – and the combinations I chose (when done right) are fantastic.

  21. I try to have self care as holistic as possible. A big thing for me, that is being selective in what media I consume. Surrounding myself with things that make me feel happy and good about myself. Too often I find myself on social media feeling jealous or inadequate.

And by far my favorite way to de-stress and focus on myself is taking a bath especially with a lush bath bomb. Some people abhor baths but to me a soak in the tub is often what I need to feel my best.
