Josh and I recently headed to the Arkansas Innovation Hub for their first ever Maker Faire. It was a nerd's dream! There were booths for 3d printers, nerdy crafts, metal works, robotics, and more!
Josh thought the Johnny-5 was pretty cool. The weather was beautiful, and we spent all day walking around and talking to people. We met the Little Rock Game Designers Roundup, and they showed us a bunch of cool table top games they're working on.
We have been wanting to get a membership at the hub for awhile. They have a cool cnc router that I really want to get my hands on. Plus, I could make a ton of cool stuff on their laser cutter.
I was very excited to see the huge totoro! I had to hug it. We also saw a power tool drag race and a trebuchet competition.
In addition to all the cool stuff, they had a beer garden with three local breweries, Lost 40, Diamond Bear, and Stones' Throw.
When we'd had enough awesome stuff at the faire, we realized we were starving. So, we walked over the junction bridge into Little Rock and tried out the new Damgoode Pizza. We actually just booked this place for our family dinner the night before the wedding, so we wanted to scope it out. It looked similar to the old Boscos that it used to be, but there were lots of fun paintings on the walls.
It was a very very cool day. I can't wait to go to more events at the hub.
Do you like board games and all things geeky? If you saw a 10 foot tall totoro, would you hug it? Leave me a comment!
