Odds and Ends

It's been awhile since I did a picture post, so I thought I would bring you one today.  We are just getting over a very nasty cold that laid me out my entire Christmas vacation.  I didn't really plan on spending my entire week off sniffly and coughing, but that's what happened.

My face got so chapped.  Thankfully, lots of baths and steam and moisturizer helped heal it up.  I didn't have much of an appetite during that week, but I managed to make myself some black ramen and cauliflower soup.

When I'm sick, all I want is a bowl of something hot and spicy.

I picked up a new adobe moleskine notebook, which syncs digitally with an app on my phone.  I draw a sketch, then upload it to the computer, where I can color the drawing.  I did a few using the app recently.

I will be publishing sketches a few times a month on my sketch blog, Scribbly Brain.  I put this one up the other day.  Josh and I have been discussing a web series about a Private Fly.

I would like to include more food/vegan related sketches on the blog in the future.  If that's something you would like to see, leave me a comment below.  I will probably even do a few painting giveaways this year.

Basil and I got spoiled spending an entire week together.  She was cuddly and wonderful the whole week.  She really is a cutie pie, and I'm loving spending time with her.

She really like it when Josh got home from work, too.

I have been keeping three things I am grateful for daily in my gratitude journal that I bought from A Beautiful Mess.  I really do think it's a good idea to get out of a negative mind space and try to appreciate your day, every day.

Josh and I tried out a new brewery in town called Lost 40.  Their beer was good, and although they don't have many veg friendly options on their limited tap room menu, I managed to find some things to snack on.  I did a write up for the Arkansas Times, so hopefully that will be out soon.  I'll do a blog write up soon as well.

After spending a week on the couch feeling like crap, I got "prettied up" for my date at the Brewery with Josh.  I felt much better afterwards.

Odds and Ends from Around the Net

There have been some beautiful recipes up on the internet, and so often, I pin them on a board and completely forget about them.  Well, I have created a new board of the recipes that stand out the most to me, and I'm going to try to make myself make them within a month.  Of course, I have already pinned several.

Is there anything on the internet you are dying to make?  Do you mostly cook from blogs, cookbooks, or just make it up as you go?  Leave me a comment!

    1. Yes, definitely! Their menu is small and meat centric, but they have a few knock out things. I have a longer post coming later this week about it. There is a killer black eyed pea hummus on the menu with pickled veggies. YUM!

Little Rock definitely has a lot of new stuff happening. There is so much to see.
