Odds and Ends
Yes, I put up my Christmas tree! I didn't let my winter blues get me down, and I've been feeling so much better for the past week. Take notice of our flying spaghetti monster tree topper. I made it several years ago at craft night, and it's my favorite part of the tree.
I made these incredible pot pies by Minimalist Baker. They were insane. We only had larger ramekins, instead of the small ones like the recipe called for, and it ended up being a lot of biscuit. They were still really good, though.
I read about rhodiola in Vegetarian Times last month, and as it's a mood booster and supports mental focus, I thought I would give it a try. The first week, I felt kind of crappy and didn't think I would continue taking it, but after several weeks, I can notice a difference. I'm not big on supplements, but I'm giving it a try and it's going well. Have any of you ever taken this herb?
After doing 3 home try-ons from Warby Parker, I ended up getting a pair I didn't even try. These are the glasses from their concentric collection, and I love them. I rushed the order, because I was afraid they wouldn't come before we go on break for Christmas, and they showed up at my office the next day. They also have AMAZING customer service. They're definitely a company that I've grown to love.
Basil hasn't destroyed the tree yet, but it's not for lack of trying.
