Snorkeling with Sea Turtles, St. Thomas VI
In an effort to include more real life things, other than food pics and recipes, on the blog, today I want to share with you some pics I just got developed from snorkeling with sea turtles on our Virgin Islands trip. You can see other St. Thomas posts here, here and here.
I'm also posting kind of late today, because Josh and I spend all day yesterday binge watching The Walking Dead in preparation for the new season. Sometimes, you just need zombies.
We set off from our resort on a huge, beautiful catamaran on our way to Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge, an island just south of where we were staying. The ride out was absolutely beautiful, and we got to see a lot more of St. Thomas than we experienced driving around.
The weather was breathtakingly beautiful, and we all enjoyed sitting out on the boat. Josh and I made sure to keep very covered with hats and shirts, because we burn like crazy.
We docked and headed into the water. We weren't allowed to go on land, since it was a refuge, but we swam around turtle bay for a long while. We saw several sea turtles and a sting ray. The whole experience was really beautiful, and I enjoyed being out in the water. Swimming is something I love to do and should do more.
Josh and I are hoping to get dive certified before our honeymoon next summer. I would love to get to spend more time underwater enjoying all the beautiful sights.
