Solfood Spring Fling at the Green Corner Store

Those awesome ladies at Solfood Catering had another lovely dinner in conjunction with the Green Corner Store last Thursday, and I was lucky enough to attend.

I chose the Raw Hummus wrap and potato salad, and I picked up some Earl Palmer sorbet from Loblolly to go with it.  The store was packed with people buzzing about and ordering great vegan food.  It made me really happy to see such a positive reaction in the community.  I think Solfood is doing a great job exposing so many people to yummy, plant based food.

I went with E+P, although Erin was very pregnant at the time and couldn't eat things with garlic, so she went with ice cream.

Phillip got a sarsaparilla from the Loblolly soda stand, and it was so good that I had to go back for one!

The wrap was filled with a very tahini-tasty hummus and carrots.  The potato salad was creamy and delicious, and everything was flavored really well.  After I scarfed these down, though, I went back for a brat!

The brats were home made, full of great spices and cumin seeds, and topped with onions and condiments.  The texture was really good, too.

These ladies are super stars, in my book, and I can't wait to see what more they're going to come up with.

If you are in the Little Rock area, they are teaching a veggie cooking class at Eggshells Kitchen Company this Friday.

They also have an amazing project going right now, called Makeda's Nido.  If you're interested, check out more!

Thanks everyone, for your encouraging words yesterday.  I was feeling really low.  The only thing I can do now is wait for my test results and hope I didn't let my anxiety fail me.  If I did fail, though, I am going to try to work on accepting my faults and moving forward without taking it out on myself and my health.  Live and learn.

  1. Gosh, I feel so bad about this, but I have YET to try anything from Solfood Catering! They were set up in a gym downtown momentarily, but it was during my January cleanse and so I waited until the cleanse was over, but they were no longer serving at that gym. Drew and I decided to check out their lunch offerings on a workday, but got a little weirded out when we arrived at an apartment building (I didn't know what the address was before heading that way) and we needed to be able to eat at a restaurant and fast since we were on a lunch break and didn't have anywhere to go with take-out at that time. And so, I haven't been back yet and I just really want to try their food! So, I need to make it out for their next event at Green Corner Store for sure!

    1. they're doing a dinner and a movie next friday at Market Street. I'm dying to go. They're playing Princess Mononoke and cooking japanese food. IT SOUNDS AMAZING!

      they're food is really delicious!

I'd love to hear from you!
