Arbonne Detox Day 27 & 28, Officially Done




This weekend was my last few days on the Arbonne detox, and it went pretty smoothly.  I did have cravings all day Saturday to drink and eat junk food, but I studied and watched the blue ray box set of the Alien movies instead.  I had a great breakfast of chocolate protein powder and strawberries.  Yum!



Bodhi Bo thought it was a good day for a photo shoot!  For lunch, I settled into some salad from the Fire Station BBQ and a quick protein shake.



Watching 4 Alien movies can really work up a girl's appetite, so for dinner, I finished up the last of the Moroccan chili.









Sunday morning, I woke up to weigh in for my end of detox finish.  I was down another 1.2 pounds this week, which is 11.2 today for the 28 days.  I feel that's pretty good.  I had pretty huge portions for dinner all week, and I grazed a lot this weekend.  I feel that's kind of falling back into my old eating patterns, mindlessly eating, so I'm going to work on that in the coming week.

I wanted to do my 7 mile run today, but it was sleeting when we got up, so I took that as it was the day to lay around and do nothing.  Sometimes, you just have to hit pause and take a break.



I had a chocolate/raspberry/spinach smoothie for breakfast, and to do something at least somewhat productive, I spent the afternoon cooking healthy stuff for the week.







Walnut Pesto

Ingredients:
2 cups raw walnuts
zest from 1 lemon
juice from 2 lemons
4 garlic cloves
1/4 cup olive oil
2 cups basil leaves

Blend it all up in the food processor and enjoy!

I plan on putting the pesto on roasted eggplant circles, and I think that will be delicious.  I keep seeing eggplant pizzas all over pinterest, and I'd like make a killer vegan version.




Then, I made another batch of hummus like I made last weekend.  It's been really great on salads and wrapped up in lettuce.



Then, I proceeded to snack down on some hummus and pesto and almonds.  I suppose you can call that lunch.



For dinner, I made up a raw zucchini salad that's been on my mind for weeks.  It turned out really tasty.




Avocado Zucchini Salad

Ingredients:
2 zucchini, spiralized into noodles
3 carrots, shredded
1 red bell pepper, cut into small cubes
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
2 green onions, chopped small
2 tbs cilantro 
1/2 cup lemon avocado dressing

Mix it all up together and enjoy!




I covered mine with raw pumpkin seeds, and it was great.

All in all, I'm really really happy that I did the detox.  It set my mind right, and I think it got me started on a great path.  I plan on keeping this good thing going.

  1. Excellent! I've really enjoyed keeping up with your detox meals and snacks. Congratulations on finishing and feeling great! Cute pics of Bodhi are awesome too! ;)

    1. Thanks! I have really enjoyed doing the detox. How is life after the crazy sexy cleanse? I think I'm going to keep going with mine just the same for much longer. If it's working, why change it?

    2. I feel many of the same things you've been talking about post-cleanse. I think it's awesome that you're going to take it to 100 days! That's dedication and you're right - if it's working, why change? I have added a few things back in and have tried very hard to listen to my body and evaluate how I want to proceed. I've decided that beer can and should only be a treat and not consumed every week. Beer is usually my drink of choice, so I may turn to a glass of wine or something else when I'm ready to drink. I've had some gluten-y products (other than beer) since the cleanse and haven't noticed any major issues, but I enjoyed the general feeling of "lightness" I experienced on the cleanse, so I plan to proceed with major moderation as far as gluten is concerned. Our juicer broke the day before the cleanse ended, siggggh, so it will be awhile before we can afford another one and have fresh juice at home again. But, we've been picking up some at Whole Foods on our weekly shopping trips, because I do want to keep drinking fresh juices and smoothies as much as possible. Overall, it was a very doable cleanse. I felt great and didn't feel too deprived or anything like that. I'd say the thing I missed the most was going out to eat, but we were doing that too frequently anyway, so it was a nice reboot.

    3. sorry your juicer broke! i actually need to start working fresh juice into my diet. it's been smoothie town for a month straight! i don't think i have an intolerance to gluten, but foods that contain gluten (bread, pasta, beer) are foods that i have a hard time regulating and often overeat. so, keeping them out for that reason. i only ate out twice on the detox, but the pantry and big orange both had amazing salads that i really enjoyed. glad to hear you enjoyed your cleanse. i did that one a few years back and loved it, then went right back to eating crap, haha.
