Arbonne Detox Day 11, Running Tools

I set out tonight on a run, and I had my usual tools with me.  I recently had to cut WAY back on my cell phone data usage, so I'm trying to do what I can.  I have been lamenting for months that iphones do not have a Google provided app for Google Play, which is a service I use.  After checking today, I realized they DO have an app out, so I got it, made a playlist, and downloaded it to my phone.  I was ready to run without streaming music on my data plan!  Another app that I can't run without is MapMyFitness.  My phone gives a little beep whenever one of my friends works out, and same for them, if they have that turned on.  It's great and motivating.  My run went really well, because I was well fueled today.

Unfortunately, my lovies at home are sick.  I had to take Bodhi to the vet this morning (she's fine, recurring problem.)  As soon as I was done with that, I scooped up Josh and took him to the doctor.  Good news is he does NOT have the flu!  Yay!  Just a cold.

Before I took Bodhi, I whipped up a chocolate, strawberry, chia seed, coconut milk smoothie.  It's like having dessert for breakfast.  I am really liking the chocolate as much as the vanilla protein powder.

After running the sick ones around all morning, I headed into work a little before lunch.  When I got there, I whipped up a green smoothie.  Ingredients:  spinach, vanilla protein, avocado, and carrots.

Tea and almonds were my mid day/pre-run snack.  What I'm amazed the most about this "diet" is that I'm not having strong cravings for foods like before.  I also have no urge to drink, which is really new for me.  At least once a week, I get intense cravings to throw down on a giant bowl of chips at a Mexican restaurant and chug a beer the size of my head.  Right now, that does not sound good.  Food cravings have always been a huge issue for me, and I'm so happy that the smoothies and healthy dinners are really satisfying.

After my run, I needed some healthy carbs and protein, so I reheated a sweet potato from the other night and topped it with my lentil mixture from last night.  I also steamed a BUNCH of broccoli (oh damn, I love broccoli.)  I was too tired to bust out the Nikon, so you get semi-ok Iphone pics.

Yum!  I really feel awesome eating this way.  It's so simple and easy.  I definitely need that.  Also, by having breakfast and lunch set, I feel more creative to experiment for dinner.  I have some more ideas for the next few days, so stay tuned!

Did you make New Years resolutions?  Are you still keeping them?
