Arbonne Detox Day 1, Brussels Bowl

Today was the first day of my Arbonne detox, and it went pretty well!  It was also a weird day, because my engagement ring was set to be delivered, and I worked at home to wait for it.  I did head into work until it went "out for delivery," so I made up a vegan protein shake at work and some detox tea.

I headed home around 10 to wait for my delivery, since it had to be signed for.  I made up a fizzy drink (part of the Arbonne products), which really woke me up!

At noon, nothing had arrived and I was starving.  So, I made up a protein shake.  It was protein powder, hemp milk, spinach and frozen strawberries.  Yum!

The smoothie was delicious!  It really hit the spot, too.  Although, I was starting to get a hankering for some solid food.  I had another fizzy drink after lunch!

I followed up the afternoon waiting for my delivery and getting quite hungry.  So, I whipped up a tea, some almonds and a clementine.

I happened to be looking out the kitchen window when the mail man drove by, and he didn't stop with my package!  After a moment of trying to figure out what to do, I jumped in my car and chased him down.  He seemed a bit surprised, but he happily handed my package over.  I've been waiting for my ring for weeks, and I was anxious.

I'm so excited!!  It's simple and makes me very happy.  After my ring arrived, I set out to making a healthy dinner.

I made up brown rice based on this recipe, then I steamed brussels sprouts and chopped ginger in the oven.  I chopped the ends off, covered the sprouts in a pan with tinfoil and baked in the oven at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes.  I let them roast another 10 minutes uncovered after that.  They were delicious.

I put 1/2 cup rice with 1 cup brussels sprouts and 1/2 cup cooked chickpeas in a bowl and squeezed a lime on top.  It was fresh, delicious and filling.

So, day 1 went really well.  I started to feel a little low mid-way through the afternoon, but the dinner made me feel much better.  I'm excited to continue on this detox for a month, and then who knows...
