Things have been so insane this week. I have really let stress get the best of me, and I haven't felt like writing. But, I've been snapping iphone shots, so I have a recap for you. Monday and Tuesday at work were incredibly busy, because we had a drawing set going out. Since we were out of town for Thanksgiving, and I'm about to leave town again (more on that in a sec), we don't really have groceries in the house. So, Monday morning, I scrounged up some miso soup for breakfast.
You know you have been eating badly when you look forward to giving things up for New Years. I must clean up my diet.
Monday brought another meeting with my surgeon and more pain. I'm ready to put all of this behind me, get back to running and yoga, and get this stress and depression under control.
I had to rush over to Whole Foods to grab some veggies and soup before heading back to work. The day didn't let up from there. I warmed up some lasagna from the freezer, wolfed it down, then worked til midnight.
Tuesday was even worse. I ran around like a crazy person all morning, only stopping for coffee for breakfast. We ordered Chinese food and wolfed it down in the conference room.
Tofu and veggies in curry sauce. Yum. Around 3, I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and by 5 our drawing set went out and I could take a break. We had some good friends in town, so we ordered a bunch of Mexican food takeout and went to bed by 9. It was glorious.
This morning brought more miso soup and some almonds.
New restaurant in West Little Rock. It was fine, but not anything exciting. I had a veggie chimi, which was loaded with spinach! They made sure to keep all the cheese and sour cream and very nice about it.
Stress is so toxic. I was learning to deal with it through yoga, but since I'm injured, I don't have a good outlet. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I just have to continuously tell myself to stay positive.
I did do something good for my health tonight. I'm heading to New Orleans tomorrow for a girls' trip, and instead of eating out on the road and around town, I'm bringing TONS of fresh food and healthy snacks to eat for the next few days. I'll have a recap of how it goes next week, but I am optimistic.
There is a juice bar with tons of vegan options right around the corner from where we're staying, so I plan on getting some fresh food there, too. I'm excited about the trip, and if you have any suggestions on vegan finds in Nola, let me know!
I will leave you now with a super cute picture of my cat and my friend Val's. They're unrelated twins (except he is twice her size.)
Good luck on your trip with all of the pending scary weather! Hope you can make it and have some stress-free hangout time!
