This Girl Loves Broccoli

I love broccoli.  I like most greens, and most vegetables in fact.  I am having a good time looking back at this past week and seeing all the green food.  I think, for the most part, I need to keep my baking to a minimum, because we still have a ton around the house, and I'm trying not to eat all of it.

This morning, I was pretty hungry.  I decided instead of juice, I was going to fire up the blender and get a smoothie going.

Sweet Green Smoothie

2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 banana, frozen
2 tbs PB2 (or peanut butter)
1 tbs vegan chocolate chips
3 cups baby spinach
3-4 cubes of ice

This smoothie was awesome, and it powered me through the morning, through my leg workout at the gym at lunch and to my stack salad.  These salads have been amazing, and I keep thinking about what I'm going to make for next week.  Maybe a Mexican theme?

I had my mid afternoon almond snack as well.  I'm loving this, and I think it's going to be a daily routine.

I had a bit of a mishap with my yoga class tonight.  I headed to Lunar Yoga, but the teacher didn't show up.  We all cut her some slack, though, because she's not having a great time with her pregnancy.  Also, she's an amazing teacher, so one slip up isn't so bad.  I came home to hang out with Josh.  We both decided to run in the morning, so I went ahead and made up dinner.  I had leftovers from last night's quesadillas, so I made up a burrito and some steamed broccoli.  (read: yum yum yum yum)

I wanted something sweet, and those baked goods were calling me.  Instead of eating all of them, I had one small biscuit and some jelly.  I'm trying to find a balance between being super restrictive in the types of food I eat and allowing myself to have one treat every once in awhile.

All in all, it was a pretty good day.  I'm feeling very positive this week with very minimal pain.  Tomorrow will be my 1 year anniversary of starting back yoga, so I'm very excited to hit up a class and give you guys a write up about what I've learned along the way.

Do you have an exercise that you love?
