Sick Day and Some Recapping


Yesterday, I stayed in bed nursing a cold, and I realized I haven't written in daaaays.  My last post, What I've learned from a year of Yoga, got a lot of chatter, but then I got very busy and then very sick.  So, anyway, I have some catching up to do.  We went backpacking this weekend, so I'll have a big recap on that coming up, but for now, here's what I've been eating lately.

Thursday

Salads, salads and pizza.  We had a date night and brought back a lot of pizza for leftovers.
















Friday

Juice, Juice and more Juice.  Plus I added some mock chicken salad and daiya to my pizza leftovers, and that was lunch AND dinner.  We spent Friday night packing for our camping trip.  Bodhi wanted to go with us.

We did a 12 mile in and out, but more on that later.  Unfortunately, I came down with a cold midway through the trip, so the second day hike was a bit miserable.  I went to bed super early Sunday, and I woke up Monday feeling like crap.  So, I stayed home and tried to stay hydrated.

Monday

Ramen noodles + vegan bullion, peanut butter chocolate smoothie, lots of sprite, and Josh brought home Layla's.  I slept most of the day, watching movies on Netflix.  I had never seen Heavenly Creatures.  It's worth a watch!





So, that's just a little snapshot of the daily eats.  As far as workouts go, I got really sore last week from my first venture into weight lifting, so I backed off so I wouldn't be worn out for our hike.  Then, we did 12 miles this weekend, and that's about it.  I'm feeling ready for some workouts, as soon as this cold passes.  Definitely thinking yoga is in my future.

    1. i really did not understand the healing power of ramen until i made it for breakfast yesterday. omg amazing. i kept the broth in instead of draining it. it was magic.

  2. I didn't know you could get fresh juice at Allegro! I'm obviously going to have to check it out. Also, I've never had Layla's - I have no idea why. haha! To combat the cold weather, I try to drink lots of tea and juice throughout the season. I don't know whether it actually keeps colds and sickness away or not, but it makes me feel better! Hope you feel better soon!

    1. mmm.. tea and juice is key! i was doing great until we went camping, then BAM. sick. the juice is from whole foods. i'm not actually sure why they have the allegro cups, haha. it's good juice, though. laylas is AMAZING. i always get their syrian salad. it's so freaking good. their hummus is tops too.

    2. Awesome! Isn't there a coffee shop called Allegro in the Rivermarket? Haha, I just assumed that's where it came from, but now that you mention Whole Foods I remembered that their coffee beans are Allegro brand. Ah well, I'm closer to Whole Foods anyway! Hurray!
