Bernice Garden Vintage Market

We interrupt this Vegan Mofo to bring you a non-food post.  Sometimes it's nice to see what's happening in Little Rock, and this weekend I headed to SoMa (South Main Street Neighborhood) to the Bernice Garden Vintage Market.  The vintage market is once a month, and I've only missed one since they started.  It seems to have grown quite a bit all summer, and the vendors are situated under the beautiful Bernice Garden cover.

It was a beautiful morning, nice and cool, and my friend Erin and I headed out for coffee before the market began.  We popped into Boulevard Bread and then sat outside while we waited for the market to open.

At 9 oclock, we walked over to the market.  It's a good idea to get there early, because a lot of the amazing finds go fast.  There is something for everyone here, from vintage fabrics to shaving utensils to video game memorabilia.

Erin and I started on one end and made our way through all the booths.  Everyone is friendly and chatty, and looking through all the vintage items is tons of fun.  There's also hand made jewelry and crafts as well.  I always get distracted by all the neat owl items.

The market was full of people today, which has been the case every month.  The SoMa neighborhood is lively and full of activity, and the people that live there really invest a lot in what goes on around them.

I, of course, want to buy everything.  I was good, though, and made it out with only some amazing wooden stacking dolls from Russia and a Star Wars book.

I badly wanted this Hobbit record set, but I have no way to play it.  It would probably have been worth it just for the art work!

Check out the Vintage Market's Facebook page for next months date, as well as updates about the event.  The Bernice Garden is located at 1401 South Main Street in Little Rock.

We also had an amazing lunch at the Green Cuisine food truck.  See my write up about it here.

Before we left, we popped into the Green Corner Store so Erin could look for a gift, and I spotted Bianca's cookbook!
